PLANNERS from Inverclyde Council have given permission for an empty Gourock shop to be turned into an art gallery.

Artist Alec Galloway has been given the green light to make alterations at the vacant Kempock Street unit which was most recently used as a women’s clothing shop.

The gallery will sell artworks and other goods and offer art education classes for schoolchildren.

Opening hours proposed for the shop are 10am-5pm, six days a week.
