TELE Camera Club members made grim discoveries this morning on the Gourock shoreline.
Member shared photographs of 'massive' jellyfish found at Cove Road slip and behind Battery Park Avenue.
Local woman Layla Travers shared the photographs of the creature next to her foot and her pet dog to highlight its mammoth size.
Meanwhile, fellow Camera Club member Stephen Trainer shared a photograph of a huge creature found close-by behind Battery Park Avenue.
The creatures are believed to be barrel jellyfish. According to The Wildlife Trusts, they usually swarm in warmer coastal waters in late spring and often wash up on our beaches in May or June.
Also known as the dustbin-lid jellyfish, they can weigh up to 35kg - making them the UK's largest jellyfish.
They are identifiable by their translucent flesh and huge mushroom shaped bell along with their frilly tendrils below.
