A NEW scheme which will see 10 trees planted for every man, woman and child in Inverclyde has been hailed by a Green MSP.
Ross Greer says the Climate Forest Project, which will see 18 million trees planted over the next decade across the Clyde Gateway, is a great idea.
A total of 600 trees are initially being planted at Coves Nature Reserve, the first of many projects across the district.
Mr Greer said: “This is a very welcome development.
"If it’s successful, it’ll make a big contribution towards tackling the climate crisis and reversing the huge decline in native wildlife we’ve seen in Scotland over recent decades."
