A PORT Glasgow man charged with assaulting police officers by allegedly trying to strike them with a pair of scissors is set to stand trial later this year.
Ian Cunningham, 35, is said to have initially brandished scissors at four PCs whilst allegedly shouting, swearing and making threats of violence.
Prosecutors say the alleged incident occurred at Dougliehill Terrace in May last year.
Cunningham, of Dougliehill Terrace, had pleas of not guilty to the indictment charges maintained in his excused absence from Greenock Sheriff Court through lawyer Gerry Keenan.
A trial before a sheriff and jury is due to get under way on September 25.
