Little ones across Inverclyde are being prepared for the transition to primary school with the help of local education staff.

Teachers from primary schools across the area have been visiting children in their nurseries ahead of the end of term.

Delighted to see smiling faces at Well Park Nursery was depute head teacher of St Patrick's Primary, Geraldine Ogilby, who paid children a visit last week.

Mrs Ogilby told the Tele: "Despite the restrictions placed on us at the moment, we have still been able to visit all of our new primary one pupils outdoors at their nurseries.

"This is my favourite part of the year and it has been very exciting getting to know all of our new pupils."

Youngsters from the nursery have also been invited to the Broomhill Street school for a short in-person visit after school before the school term ends.
