HEALTH and social care chiefs have praised the 'incredible' response from the community to the pandemic.

Groups like Your Voice, CVS and the carers centre were singled out for praise in a report by the Inverclyde Integrated Joint Board.

It said: "We have always said that Inverclyde is a caring and compassionate place but this was even more evident as the country faced this health crisis.

"Our partners in CVS, Your Voice, the carers centre and many other community groups stepped up to help those in need.

"We have seen significant growth in the number of volunteers, local groups have set up wellbeing support arrangements and food and care parcels are being delivered across the district.

"The board is keen to ensure that the positive growth continues long after the pandemic is over."
