A GREENOCK born actor is swapping the 'Line of Duty' for the football pitch as he prepares to play in a charity football match.

Martin Compston will be playing in Soccer Aid for UNICEF in September to raise vital funds for the charity responsible for providing humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide.

He'll be taking to the pitch alongside names such as Usain Bolt, Olly Murs and Roman Kemp in Etihad Stadium, Manchester.

Ahead of the game, the Greenock actor, best known for his role as DC Steve Arnott in the hit cop drama Line of Duty, has shared a video highlighting the importance of playing games with friends as a child.

When asked about his favourite games when he was younger, he says he spent his childhood playing 'kerby' and 'ring a bang skoosh'.
