A GREENOCK man has been charged with taking part in an alleged mob-handed attack on a fellow inmate at Greenock Prison.
Michael Bell, 33, is said to have repeatedly punched and kicked Scott Rooney on the head and body in April last year.
Prosecutors say that Bell, of Maple Road, was accompanied by two other men during the alleged assault.
He has pleaded not guilty at the sheriff court through lawyer Gerry Keenan.
The case is due to call again in December.
