A CONTROVERSIAL plan to demolish a rundown villa and replace it with new home sporting a zinc roof has divided villagers in Kilmacolm.
Applicants want to build the four bedroom property on Knockbuckle Road with a low angle monopitch zinc roof - a design that has split opinion in the area.
After neighbours were notified by council planners, 12 objections were lodged and 38 representations were received in support of the plan, including from Kilmacolm Civic Trust.
The development has been recommended for approval by officials - with a raft of conditions.
Planning Board members will have the final say when the bid goes before them on Wednesday.
