A BID by property developers to build on greenbelt land in Quarrier's Village has been thrown out by the Scottish Government.
Planning permission in principle for the Carsemeadow site was first refused by Inverclyde Council.
The developers, Gladman, appealed the decision but it was dismissed by ministers.
They went to the Court of Session and were successful in getting the appeal decision quashed.
It was then put back to Scottish ministers, who after further consideration blocked it again.
