COUNCILLORS have agreed to spend £15,000 from the council’s Covid Recovery Fund to offer up to 1,000 flu vaccinations to local staff outwith the regular NHS programme.
It is hoped this will bolster workforce resilience going into the crucial winter period, alongside a possible Covid immunisation booster programme.
A report by Municipal Buildings bosses said: “As there may be a greater impact from any circulating flu, given the low levels last winter, this would increase the resilience of the workforce going into winter.
“Initial priority would be given to frontline services.
"Delivery of vaccinations to staff will only take place if there is sufficient vaccine available.”
