A PORT Glasgow sex offender who distributed indecent images of children has been jailed.
Mark Gemmell, 47, was already serving a 35-month prison term for other offences and has now been sentenced to a further 15 months behind bars.
He pleaded guilty to distributing or showing category A, B and C material on various occasions, as well as possession of the images at a flat on Highholm Street.
Gemmell was on bail at the time of the offences in 2019.
Sheriff David Hall told him: "I am satisfied there is no alternative to a custodial sentence in this case."
The sheriff also placed Gemmell on the Sex Offenders Register for ten years.
