TEN lucky lotto winners across Inverclyde are celebrating after scooping a windfall of almost £400,000.

People's Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson knocked on the doors of seven lucky Braeside residents and three Port Glasgow neighbours to let them know they'd won £30,000 each.

Two of the lucky Greenockians - including NHS keyworker Gary Summers - landed £60,000, as they play the monthly draw with two tickets.

Greenock gran Joan Black, who has the fortunate postcode PA16 0QX, was celebrating for a second time in 10 years - as she won £11,962 in the draw back in 2011.

The lucky retiree intends to share her winnings with her three children.

Dad-of-one Gary, from Braeside Road, says the surprise knock on the door was the 'most amazing moment of his life'.

The 33-year-old said: "£60,000 is life-changing.

"Words can't describe how amazing it is - I think I'm still in shock.

"I think Christmas will definitely be good for my little girl.

"That’s the initial thing, I know she’s going to have a really good Christmas this year."

Meanwhile on the same street, neighbour Jim Dorrian is planning to spoil his family with his winnings.

The 63-year-old grandfather said: "I want to treat my family - I want to give my kids and my grandkids something.

"It just means myself and my wife will be comfortable for a couple of years to come without having to worry about money."

Every day throughout August, one postcode will be announced as a £30,000 prize winner and each player in the vicinity will win the five-figure sum for every ticket they hold.

Three winners on the Port's Lismore Avenue were also celebrating after receiving the good news just after the Greenock postcode was selected.

Dad Ryan Foreman was one of the successful neighbours on the Port Glasgow street and is already making plans to take his family abroad and make renovations to the house.

The 38-year-old told the Tele: "It’ll give us a wee bit extra comfort, rather than saving and putting money away for things we can now go and do the things we need to do.

"We can take the children on a holiday once everything calms down a bit, so we can go abroad and spoil them."

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl told the Tele: "I was thrilled to bring this incredible surprise to our lucky players in Greenock and Port Glasgow.

"It was lovely meeting some of our winners and hearing what they are going to spend it on.

"Congratulations to all of our winners, I’m sure they’ll celebrating this weekend and maybe into next week."
