A PORT Glasgow man who helped local people starting running to stay fit is now giving them the chance to play football.
Dad Stephen Jenkins started the Inverclyde couch to 5k group a few years ago.
As lockdown came to an end he decided to start some football training sessions and they are now looking to start a new team.
Together with coach Steven Connery, who has been involved at junior level, they have launched West Coast United.
Stephen Jenkins said: "We started some five a sides but the guys coming along now want to play a full team. We all just want to get fitter and play a game of football.
"We have just about 20 people interested.
"We just want to give people the chance to play in a Sunday League. We have held trials at Parklea."
Together with coach Steven Connery they are now hoping to get some sponsors to help them on their way.
They are training twice a week have some friendlies lined up ready to join the league next season.
