MOTORISTS face delays for almost two weeks when maintenance work starts on the A8 Port Glasgow tomorrow.

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are undertaking essential maintenance to upgrade signs.

The work will be carried out between 9.30am and 3pm every day until September 24.

Road bosses say the scheme will benefit around 30,000 vehicles using the route each day, by 'improving the clarity of directional signage'.

A spokesman for Amey said: "The work will be carried out using nearside single lane closures of the A8.

"We thank road users for their patience while this essential maintenance is underway."
