THE number of coronavirus cases in Inverclyde continues to fall as the recent surge in infections subsides.
Just under 700local people tested positive for Covid between September 6-12.
The infection rate per 100,000 people has now fallen beneath 1,000 and stands at 901.
This is still the third highest rate in the country behind West Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire.
The national average is much lower at 677 per 100k, but the Inverclyde rate is now almost in line with the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde figure, as the picture here improves steadily.
