INVERCLYDE MSP Stuart McMillan is promoting a push to remind people to go for regular eye tests.
Visual impairment charity RNIB has expressed concern that preventable sight loss may end up on the rise following Covid-19, with people missing check- ups.
Mr McMillan, who is convener of the parliament's cross-party group on visual impairment, said: "I know how important eye examinations are in protecting sight and would thoroughly endorse RNIB Scotland's message not to neglect your eye-health.
" I would urge everyone to take make the short time needed to attend an examination with their local optician.
"These are free in Scotland for everyone."
