THE Orange lodge in Port Glasgow has thanked passers-by and professionals who tried to save the life of one of their members after he collapsed.
John Graham, who was secretary of the Port Glasgow District branch of the organisation, passed away after taking unwell during a weekend march in Glasgow.
District Master Billy Gray says a 'phenomenal effort' was made to try and save the 68-year-old.
Mr Gray told the Tele: "Such an amazing effort was made to save John's life on Saturday.
"The police, St John's Ambulance and paramedics and a passing doctor stopped.
"Workmen also sourced a defibrillator and brought it to us.
"It was heartbreaking to watch, but such a big effort was made to save his life.
"We're really thankful to everyone who worked to try and save John."
