GUS MacPherson has been left with a goalkeeping headache after Morton confirmed that youngster Chris Wylie left the club yesterday.

The 20-year-old has left Cappielow to pursue other career options after making only one competitive senior appearance to date in Ton's 3-1 SPFL Trust Trophy victory over Celtic B last month.

Wylie joined Ton in January 2020 under former boss David Hopkin and had won plaudits from other first choice goalkeepers at the club such as Sam Ramsbottom and former player of the year Aidan McAdams after providing competition between the sticks.

This leaves MacPherson with only one senior goalkeeper in the squad, with Jack Hamilton proving to be the undisputed number at the club so far, making 11 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

It remains to be seen whether the Ton chief will have any options lined up to bring in a back-up 'keeper or if he will operate until January with only senior shot-stopper in his squad.
