A YOUNG Port Glasgow girl who tragically died at the age of just 14 was remembered by her school friends and teachers on what would have been her 16th birthday.

Cerys Reeve — a promising dancer and much-loved pupil of St Stephen's High — passed away in July last year.

In a social media tribute to Cerys, the school said: "Today we remember our friend Cerys Reeve, on what would have been her 16th birthday.

"The school community remembers her family and friends in their prayers today."

A 17-year-old youth appeared at Greenock Sheriff Court earlier this year charged with killing Cerys by allegedly 'recklessly' supplying her with the class A drug ecstasy.
