A PLAYPARK that was vandalised in the summer has been repaired in time for the school holidays.
Councillor David Wilson, had hit out at the culprits who damaged a plastic tunnel connected to a slide in Birkmyre Park
This resulted in the slide being cordoned off since July and at the time council bosses said it would cost £500 to repair
Councillor Wilson said: "It is great that the children in Kilmacolm and surroundings areas can now enjoy all the equipment in their play park.
"I think it is very disappointing that people acting in this way have denied children the opportunity to play on the slide during the good weather.
"The council has had to pay for this out of its budget, it doesn't have insurance for play parks."
Councillor Wilson added that he welcomed that the slide had been fixed in time for the school holidays.
An Inverclyde Council spokesperson said: “Repairs were carried out last week and the play park has now fully reopened.”
