A LITTLE Gourock girl would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported her charity walk.

Five-year-old Sophia Vass took part in the Kiltwalk with her gran Bernadette to help raise more than £2,000 for Mary Meals.

And they want to say a big thanks to everyone who sponsored them on their way.

Thanks to the incredible donations more than 120 children living in poor countries will be fed and educated for a year.

Gran Bernadette, who is the local Mary's Meals co-ordinator, said: "We both thoroughly enjoyed taking part with many bypassers applauding Sophie along the route.

"At one point although her wee legs getting weary she said I am not giving up grandma I am going to finish this.

"As we approached the finish there was an announcement that there was an amazing little Marys meals supporter about to cross the finishing line and she got a massive applause and cheers before being given her medal.

"We would like to thank everyone who sponsored us and special thanks to Treasured gift shop in Gourock for printing and donating our balloons and Smiths shoe shop in Greenock for our kilts."

Mary's Meals helps children in poor countries get an education and a school meal.

They raised over £1,000 and that will now be fully matched by Sir Tom Hunter who organises the Kiltwalk.

Mary's Meal fundraiser Bernadette is also raffling a Silvercross pram in time for Christmas.
