INVERCLYDE Council is set to hold a 'welcoming new Scots' event at the Beacon for the newly-resettled Afghan families.
It is set to take place on November 19.
The council is also set to recruit five new people to bolster its team working to rehome and provide support to the refugees.
These include a team leader, a children's support officer and someone to provide help and advice on welfare rights.
The new posts, once rubber-stamped, will be paid for through grants provided by the UK Government.
