The MV Loch Shira will not be back in service between Largs and Cumbrae over the weekend.

CalMac says further work is required on the ferry following its collision with the seabed on Monday.

A spokesperson said: "Further investigation will be required on MV Loch Shira and as a result the vessel will not be available for service this weekend.

"We are awaiting specialist support who are not able to attend until Monday.

"A Voith Engineer will be on site on Monday October 18 and a further update will be provided at the beginning of next week."

The Loch Riddon and Isle of Cumbrae will continue to service the route until the Loch Shira returns.
