A BRAVE little girl from the Port who saved her dad's life has been given an 'incredible gift' by a kind Tele reader who was inspired by her heroic efforts.

The Tele recently reported how eight-year-old Rochelle Ramsay came to the rescue in the middle of the night when she heard her dad Chris - who had taken seriously ill with pneumonia and sepsis - in distress.

After waking her mum up, the family were able to enlist the help of the ambulance service just in time.

Medics said if it wasn't for the youngster's efforts, her dad would have died.

After reading about the St Michael's pupil's story in the Tele, a kind reader contacted us to ask if she and her husband could do something special for the 'little angel'.

The generous pair decided to give the 'wee hero' a card with a heartfelt message which had £500 inside for the youngster to treat herself and her family to something nice.

Rochelle said: "If the kind people were in front of me now I would say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

"It is so exciting.

"I might buy a new puppy or treat myself to some Roblox.

"I am so glad I saved my dad."

The kind couple, who want to remain anonymous, say they were touched by the story of the Ramsay family as they recently lost a friend to sepsis.

Chris, who has inflammation of the spinal cord and multiple sclerosis, was stunned by the kind gesture.

The 38-year-old said: "What an amazing couple to do this for Rochelle - we cannot thank them enough.

"I don't have the words to say how grateful I am to Rochelle for saving my life and to these kind people for doing that for her.

"Rochelle could have went back to sleep and I would have been dead.

"She deserves this so much."

Chris' wife-to-be Sheryl was left in tears, saying the gesture has 'made their daughter's year'.

She added: "We cannot even put into words how appreciative we are - this is so thoughtful.

"The card is so special, we will treasure this forever.

"Nothing could have prepared us for seeing Chris taken away in that ambulance and not knowing whether we'd ever see him again.

"This has had a happy ending for us all."
