Our photographer George Munro shares his top moments of the past week and gives a bit of 'behind the scenes' information for our readers.

So long, farewell...

Greenock Telegraph:

We joined staff and pupils of St Patrick's Primary School in an emotional farewell to their much-loved janitor. Pupils gave Robert MacDonald a rousing cheer in celebration of his 25 years of service, making this happy picture. We at the Tele wish Robert all the best in his well-earned retirement.

Iconic outlook returns

Greenock Telegraph:

The staggering panorama over the Clyde Estuary seen from Tower Hill in Gourock has all but disappeared, as shrubs and trees on the hill's slopes have slowly grown out of control. I took this picture of Councillor Ronnie Ahlfeld who is calling for action after receiving letters and phone calls about the problem. Now the view-blocking trees will be pruned to bring the hill's iconic outlook back.

Charity Champions

Greenock Telegraph:

I took this picture of young members of Diode's workforce as they handed over a whopping £3,050 donation to The Beatson Cancer Charity. The Greenock semi-conductor plant's Team NextGen raised the money in a sponsored climb to the summit of Ben Lomond.

Grandad Duties

Greenock Telegraph:

This shot shows Lady Alice Primary School janitor Andrew Campbell as he prepared for his life beyond retirement. Andrew was joined by his daughter Ashley Campbell as he displayed his future role on his t-shirt for all to see. Andrew always gave us a friendly welcome to the school, and he will be missed as takes on his duties as Professional Grandad!
