THE curtain set to go up on the musical spectacular Annie at the Beacon Arts Centre.

It may be a hard-knock-life for some but little orphan Annie, pictured centre, is looking good in the Albany's glittering production.

The show is being performed by The Albany Stage School which includes youngsters and adult actors.

Centre stage is schoolgirl Lexi McFeat, 10, who lives in Greenock and attends St Columba's School in Kilmacolm.

She said: "I've very happy. I'm a little bit nervous and excited as well."

The cast are also very excited after their last production Hairspray was halted only two days before the show in 2019.

Stuart Workman directs the show and jointly produced it with Angela Varty.

Angela, a joint director with Stuart of the Albany, said: "The cast are mega excited it all. It is such a great show.

"It's full of great songs and dance routines.

"They are all desperate to get on stage after lockdown."

The show runs from Thursday November 18 until Saturday November 20, there is also a matinee performance at 2.30pm on Saturday.

Tickets cost £18 for adults and £16 for children.
