A GREENOCK schoolgirl can grin and bear it after her design for a new Children In Need t-shirt won a competition.

Amy Wallace, 12, was one of a group of local children who took part in RIG Arts workshops over Zoom during lockdown, funded by the BBC charity appeal.

RIG were approached by the charity to come up with the Pudsey face for Scotland in a new t-shirt.

Amy, a pupil at King's Oak Primary, came up with a colourful Paisley Pattern for the bear's bandage and it caught the eye of Asda designers, who are producing the t-shirt.

Artists Jim Strachan and Louise Carr ran the workshops and are thrilled by Amy's success and proud of all 10 of the children in the class who came up with original designs.
