A CONVICTED Greenock blade thug who tried to murder a woman whilst armed with a meat cleaver and an axe has been charged with assaulting a prison officer.
Robert Warnock, 25, is accused of attempting to headbutt the man within Barlinnie prison in Glasgow.
Warnock was sentenced to 11 years imprisonment in February last year for attacking a defenceless woman as she waited for a taxi.
He was remanded in custody for the attempted murder when he is said to have assaulted the warder in November 2019.
Warnock had a plea of not guilty tendered in his absence from the sheriff court by lawyer Amy Spencer.
He is to stand trial on December 14.
