THE owners of Wemyss Bay Holiday Park owner has been raising money to help restore Scotland's rainforests.

Parkdean Resorts, who own the site, have been lending the Royal Society for The Protection of Birds (RSPB) a helping hand by helping to restore the vital habitat.

For each holiday home sold, Parkdean have been sponsoring the restoration of 20 square metres of rainforest.

After selling more than 2,700 holiday homes in the first six months of the partnership, the company is funding the restoration of five hectares of Scotland’s rainforest.

Only 30,000 hectares of rainforest remain in Scotland and it is feared that if conservation work is not undertaken now there will be no Scottish rainforest left in 100 years time.
