INVERCLYDE'S households are in the hotseat after an awareness campaign revealed that many homes are heated to the same temperature as Barbados.
Utilita Energy's 'Wear Warm' campaign is asking people to help save the planet - and their pockets - by not heating their homes to any more than 21 degrees centigrade.
The campaign was launched after research revealed almost half of the nation’s homes are heated to 24 degrees for half the year.
The average annual saving for homes turning down their thermostat by three degrees is £174, and for Inverclyde this would save £3.3m every year.
