A TINY Tartan Army with big voices belted out their favourite Scottish hits for a special patriotic party which was beamed back home.

Bluebird Family Centre organised a show at the nursery to celebrate St Andrew's Day.

As the Covid-19 public health restrictions continue nurseries like Bluebird are having to find new ways to keep parents involved.

Mums and dads were able to watch the show as it was streamed online live into their homes.

Waving St Andrew's flags, tartan hats and singing Ali Bali Bee, they gave it their all in honour of the country's patron saint.

Senior early years and childcare officer Carol Shaw said: "We were all so excited about St Andrew's Day and all the children have been practising their songs and learning about it.

"We wanted to make our parents feel part of this because sadly we still can't have them in the centre.

"But streaming it was a good way to show them what we are doing."

Youngsters Aiden Smith, three, Jacob Grant, four, and Rio Speirs, four, led the Bluebird singers in a rousing rendition of Donald Where's Your Troosers.

Jacob told the Tele: "We loved singing the songs."

Acting head of centre Claire McIntyre said: "I was very impressed with their singing, it was lovely to watch them and hear them sing."

They were determined to make November 30 extra special for the children and their families.
