Pupils at St Ninian's Primary School marked Book Week Scotland with library visits and paired reading sessions.
Every class from the Gourock primary school made the trip down to Gourock Library to learn what the local library service has to offer.
Storyteller Susan Wilson and her puppet Onion also entertained the youngsters with fairy tales from around the world.
After Susan and Onion's visit, senior school pupils paired with their younger peers to read 'Arlo: The Lion Who Couldn't Sleep' - which tells the story of a restless lion who finds peace after a visit from an owl.
The books came from the Scottish Book Trust's 'Read, Write, Count' bags which are given to Primary 2 and 3 children across Scotland to help them build their literacy and numeracy skills.
