MORTON have fired manager Gus MacPherson.
The decision was taken following today's 2-2 draw with Ayr United.
A club statement said: "The club can today announce that, following today’s game, manager, Gus MacPherson, has been relieved of his duties.
"We would like to thank Gus for his efforts and hard work during his time at the club and wish him all the best for the future.
"The club will provide a further update in the coming days."
The Ton chief was pictured leaving Cappielow in the immediate aftermath of the full-time whistle after a brief chat with his playing staff and coaches in the vicinity of the main stand at Cappielow.
The future of the club's coaching staff, including goalkeeping coach Dave Scott and former Hearts and Motherwell striker John Sutton, remains unknown.
