PANTO performances at the Beacon have been cancelled due to coronavirus restrictions.

The arts centre has announced that the Cinderella shows due to take place from December 27-31 will no longer go ahead.

Director Pauline Kane says the Scottish Government's new capacity regulations, and safety concerns in light of the surge in Omicron coronavirus cases meant that putting on the performances was 'no longer viable'.

She added: "We understand this is disappointing news for all those who were looking forward to coming along.

"These are challenges that are being faced across the whole country, and indeed beyond.

"We'd like to reassure everyone that we will be working harder than ever to bring back brilliant performances as soon as possible."

Shows scheduled to run from January 17 onwards will run as planned.

Customers who have booked tickets for Cinderella between December 27-31 should visit

The Beacon will be closed from December 25-28 and customer requests will be processed from December 29.
