INVERCLYDE's seven day positivity rate for Covid-19 was the highest in Scotland for the second week running, according to latest figures.
Figures released by Public Health Scotland show that the district's seven day positive rate was the worst in the country for the week between January 1 and January 7, at 2,078.9 per 100,000 of the population.
The figure was significantly higher than the Scottish average for the same period, which was 1,592.6 per 100k.
During this period, 26.8 per cent of tests taken in Inverclyde returned a positive result, and 1,602 people tested positive.
