A NEW 20 mph speed limit is set to be introduced outside every school in Inverclyde in a bid to make roads safer.
As part of a major study following a motion set down by Councillor Chris Curley, a raft of new measures will be brought in around both secondaries and primaries.
Road bosses will now move to put in place part time 20 mph speed limits during school hours.
A number of schools in busy built up areas, including Inverclyde Academy, Lady Alice and Notre Dame, already have the reduced speed limit mandatory, while in other places it is still advisory
Officers are proposing to implement the new restrictions outside all schools by 2024.
Councillors will be asked to agree to the proposal at an upcoming committee meeting.
