BOSSES at a Greenock cafe have hit out over abuse directed at staff members asking customers to wear masks.
Management at the Cottage Bistro in Greenock say workers have been verbally abused when asking people to follow current coronavirus rules.
A spokesperson said: "This is an issue that has been getting progressively worse.
"We have the most amazing staff who, when asking customers not wearing a mask in a polite way, are often being spoken to in a rude and abusive manner.
"All our measures are under Scottish Government guidance and we are just trying to keep everyone safe."
