A GENEROUS schoolboy was given the chance to meet his football heroes after making Easter special for less fortunate families.

Aileymill Primary pupil Rory McNulty, eight, saved up his pocket money and bought chocolates for Compassionate Inverclyde.

Rory saved up his pocket money for weeks to buy 10 packets of creme eggs for the charity to distribute.

This is the second year that Rory has made an Easter donation to the local good cause.

This year the youngster's good turn was repaid when Morton invited him to Cappielow to meet players and tour the stadium.

Rory told the Tele that he wanted to help other people enjoy Easter.

He said: "It's good to help people who might not be able to get Easter eggs.

"I did it last year when we were learning about kindness and I wanted to be kind again this year.

"I loved going to Cappielow too and I got to meet Reece Lyon, he's my favourite player."

In addition to meeting the Ton team, Rory was taken to hospitality and given a scarf by Ton's kitman.

Proud dad Chris said that he was 'incredibly proud' of Rory's generosity.

He said: "He did it last year when his class were learning about kindness and this year he wanted to do it again.

"We never mentioned it, he just took it upon himself.

"He's a kind wee boy and he always wants to help people out.

"His mum and I are very proud of him, he just loves helping out other people.

"Morton reached out to me online after seeing what Rory did and said they would like to repay his act of kindness with another.

"He had a great day out getting to meet everyone - he loves Morton so it was a great gesture from the club."
