GIRL power was on a roll at a Greenock bowling club as ladies started off the new season with support from fellow bowlers.
The ladies section at Lady Alice Bowling Club invited fellow female bowlers from kindred clubs in Inverclyde along to get the 'bowl' rolling on the season.
As well as enjoying a wapenshaw in the sunshine, they were treated to hospitality from the Inverkip Road club.
The first bowl was thrown by Gus Munro, husband of ladies' president Sandra, who says she's 'delighted' to see the season in full swing.
She told the Tele: "We were delighted to have our own members join us on the day as well as representatives from various clubs across Inverclyde.
"It's nice to be back and we're looking forward to what will hopefully be another successful season.
"We host this event every year and it's always nice to catch up with everyone, have the wapenshaw and enjoy some refreshments."
Representing Greenock & District was Mhairi McNeill and also in attendance was the club's president Stephen Williams and secretary Margaret Hoey.
Sandra is hoping that some new bowlers will go along and give the sport a try this season.
She added: "I think people are perhaps still a bit apprehensive after Covid-19, so things are a bit quieter than usual.
"Hopefully as the season picks up people will be happy to come back or we'll be able to recruit some new members.
"Bowling is an amazing sport - it's more than just the game, it's all about the great social side.
"We have members of all ages and would love to have other people come and join our club."
The ladies meet on Wednesdays and all new members are welcome.
