A GREENOCK man has been charged with attacking a woman bar tender in a town pub by seizing her hair and punching her on the head.

Jordan McAllister is also accused of kicking another man on the head during an alleged violent incident at the Green Oak Bar, on Inverkip Street.

McAllister, 21, is said to have lashed out after refusing to leave the premises when asked to do so by two female members of staff.

Prosecutors say he was on five bail orders for other criminal matters at the time of the alleged assaults last month.

He is set to stand trial at the sheriff court next week, also accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, repeatedly shouting, swearing, acting aggressively and making threats of violence.

McAllister — who has been locked up since his arrest on April 16 — maintained pleas of not guilty through lawyer Aidan Gallagher at the latest preliminary calling of the case.

It is alleged that McAllister, of Cathcart Street, assaulted the woman by repeatedly attempting to punch her, then punching her on the head and grabbing her by the hair.

The Crown says he went on to repeatedly try to punch a man on the head, punch him and, whilst he was on the floor, kick him on the head.

McAllister is said to have committed the alleged offences whilst in breach of of an 8pm to 7am night-time bail curfew.

The custody case is due to be heard at the sheriff court next Thursday.
