A MAN charged with attempted theft from Inverclyde's criminal justice department HQ in Port Glasgow won't now stand trial until nearly FOUR YEARS after the alleged incident.
Kieren Grey had been due to have his case regarding the January 2019 matter heard on Monday, but it had to be adjourned for a procedural reason.
He is charged with concealing a torch and trying to steal the item from the premises on the Port's Ardgowan Street.
Grey, of Brachelston Street in Greenock, is further accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, repeatedly shouting, swearing and following another man on the same date.
He has maintained pleas of not guilty through his lawyer Derek Buchanan.
The trial is now due to take place on December 28.
