A PORT man charged with seizing and compressing his ex-partner's throat has been allowed bail.
Kevin Adair, 41, is said to have committed the alleged assault in an alley between King Street and Fore Street.
Prosecutors say he also pushed the woman and restrained her against a wall there on May 13.
Adair, of Fore Street, has pleaded not guilty through lawyer Derek Buchanan.
He was bailed on condition that he does not approach or contact the alleged victim in any way.
The case is due to call again on July 12.
