VANDALISM fears have been allayed in the wake of the disappearance of some of Greenock's smallest residents from the waterfront.
Eagle-eyed locals spotted that some of the intricately-designed 'Yardmen' figures near to the waterfront had gone missing.
Telegraph readers expressed their concern that the sculpture had been vandalised, with only the boots of some of the 12-inch tall characters remaining.
The Telegraph contacted RIG Arts, who had installed them, and they confirmed that all is well.
Artist Jason Orr, creator of the sculpture, has taken some of the figures away to fix them.
His wife, artist Karen Orr, said: "Jason noticed that some of the figures needed a bit of attention and he had to bring them back to the studio.
"He's pledged to get them back on their perch as soon as possible."
