A LOCAL housing provider has apologised to disabled residents who are stuck in their Greenock flats due to a lift failure.
Residents of Charles Place hit out at River Clyde Homes on our front page after being trapped in their homes due to the elevator being out of action since last month.
Buzzers have also not been working properly and residents have missed vital visits from community nurses.
River Clyde Homes say they 'fully understand people's frustrations'.
A spokesperson said: "We are aware of the situation with the lift in Charles Place. The necessary part for repair has been ordered by our contractor.
"However, there has been a delay in delivery because of the public holidays.
"We apologise for the inconvenience. The lift will be repaired as soon as the part arrives.
"We were not aware of an issue with the door entry system but have sent someone to the building to have it checked."
