PROPOSALS for a new caravan and glamping site in Gourock have been given the go-ahead by members of Inverclyde Council's planning board.
Councillors backed officers recommendations that a 'change of use' application to create a motorhome, touring caravan and camping site on Cloch Road be approved.
The application, which was made by owners of the nearby Cloch Caravan Park, was granted permission in principle by the board.
Proposed plans for the eastern part of the site include 20 pitches, a reception/shop, a play area and toilet and laundry facilities.
The proposals also indicate that a further 16 pitches could be build on the site as part of a future expansion, with additional visitor parking, camping and 'glamping' areas also a possibility.
Detailed plans will have to be submitted before development can begin.
