A MAN arrested in the United Arab Emirates on an international extradition warrant relating to an alleged serious sexual offence in Greenock almost nine years ago is today behind bars in a Scottish prison.
Waleed Jamal appeared at the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday on the matter and he was remanded in custody.
Jamal, 31, was arrested in Abu Dhabi and extradited back to Scotland following co-operation between Interpol, Police Scotland, the National Crime Agency and UAE authorities.
He is charged with committing an alleged sex attack in Greenock in December 2013.
