THE date has now been set for the end of weekly food waste uplifts in Inverclyde.
The cash-strapped council agreed to move to a fortnightly collection system as part of a round of cuts agreed when it set the budget earlier this year.
Green food waste bins will be gathered every two weeks from July 18 onwards.
They will taken on the same days as householders' black bins.
The local authority says it will make additional outdoor containers available free to residents who produce a lot of food waste.
They can be be ordered online via www.inverclyde.gov.uk
