TESCO has broken its silence and responded to a local MP's challenge about its fuel prices.
Research recently published in the Tele, revealed that Inverclyde locals are paying more to fuel up than drivers in Paisley and parts of Glasgow.
Ronnie Cowan, MP for Inverclyde, recently penned a letter to both Tesco and Morrisons, challenging 'rip off' fuel prices in the area.
Bosses at Morrisons said on Wednesday that they are going to look at their Rue End Street store's charges 'as a matter of priority.'
Now, Tesco has also responded to Mr Cowan, claiming they will review prices with their dedicated 'fuel team.'
The news comes after a week where pressure has been piled on local operators over the prices being charged per litre in Inverclyde compared with neighbouring areas.
Some local customers have proposed a boycott of local forecourts in protest.
