TWO Greenock men charged with running a major drug supply operation from a house in the town have pleaded not guilty to the indictment charge against them.

Peter Berry, 49, and Ian Miller, 38, are accused of being concerned in the supply of the so-called 'street valium' substance etizolam over a period of nine months.

They are said to have committed the alleged offence at a property on Redpoll Place between April 23, 2020 and January 20 last year.

The Telegraph told previously how police raided a house at Redpoll Place at 6am on January 20 last year.

At the time, officers said that 170,000 etizolam tablets with an estimated street value of £90,000 were allegedly recovered.

Berry, of Redpoll Place, and Miller, of Brachelston Street, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday through lawyers Aidan Gallagher and Amy Spencer.

The case is due to call again on August 9.
